What is ROAR
First thing you need to do is sign up for ROAR. ROAR is a nationwide sanctioning body that sets the class rules much like NHRA is to drag racing and NASCAR is to stock car racing. ROAR also sets safe guideline for RC racing in the USA and even Canada and provides liability for the track and racers alike. Its only $35 a year and your year starts the day you sign up. You can sign up at the track on your first day and get going right away, ROAR will then mail your membership card to the address you provide. If you sign up at the track you will not only be able to use the track that day but your first practice is free. The other option is to sign up on the ROAR website found here…
Your ROAR membership can be used at any ROAR affiliated track across the country. Many tracks in our area require ROAR.
ROAR also has large national events that you will be able to enter as a ROAR member.
Your ROAR membership also gives you a 10% discount when inside Funworks. This includes food, drinks, games and rides!
Once you are all set with your ROAR membership it would be a good idea to come out to the track for a few Friday night practices to get a feel for the track before you jump right into racing. This will also give you an opportunity to meet some of us and ask any other questions you might have about your cars setup, how we run our race programs and whatever else is on your mind.
