Scoring System

MRCR uses an electronic scoring system provided by Mylaps.

You can also purchase your own personal transponder (PT) made by Mylaps from most hobby shops or from Mylaps directly. We recommend if you can afford it, purchasing a PT is a very good idea.

MRCR (as of this writing 08-01-2014) has the most current Mylaps decoder (RC4 decoder) equipment which means our scoring system will work with most older AMB decoders. Mylaps bought out AMB some years back which is why the older transponders are called AMB. Our system works with AMBrc and AMB DP PT personal transponders as well as Mylaps RC4 and Mylaps RC4 Hybrid PT’s. These are (currently) the only transponders that will work with our scoring system. Please review the chart below for more details. If you still have questions please email us or ask the race director the next time you’re at the track.

NOTE: You may come across clone transponders on the market. We do not recommend purchasing these as they are known to not function properly with Mylaps current decoder which we are using.

Classes

2wd “Rookie” Novice

This is our beginners class. All 2wd 1/10th electric vehicles, with a 2s lipo (7.4 volts) will run in the 2wd Novice class. Motors are not limited. We do however recommend the 2wd novice racer runs a vehicle with a 17.5 motor, but as stated this is not enforced.

For beginners MRCR does not suggest 4wd Buggy or 4wd SCT.

A good vehicle for beginners to get into the sport is 2wd SCT and/or 2wd Buggy. Don’t read this statement wrong however, this doesn’t mean that these two classes are “for” beginners. These two classes always have good turnouts and the vehicles are easy to drive and learn with as well as work on.

All Novice racers that have a 4wd vehicle will be put into the 4wd Novice class.

Stock Buggy

Any 1/10th scale electric 2wd buggy of ROAR specs paired with a 2s lipo and 17.5 motor and esc that is non-ramping (N.R.) or has blinky mode.

Mod SCT

Any 1/10th scale electric 2wd Short Course Truck (SCT) of ROAR specs paired with a 2s lipo. Motors and electronic speed controls (esc) are not limited in this class.

Open Truck

Also referred to as Stadium Truck or ST. Any 1/10th scale electric Stadium Truck of ROAR spec paired with a 2s lipo. Motors and electronic speed controls (esc) are not limited in this class.

13.5 4wd Buggy

Any 1/10th scale electric 4wd Buggy of ROAR spec paired with a 2s lipo and 3.5 motor and esc that is non-ramping (N.R.) or has blinky mode.

4wd SCT

Any 1/10th scale electric 4wd Short Course Truck (SCT) of ROAR spec paired with a 2s lipo. Motors and electronic speed controls (esc) are not limited in this class.

4wd Truggy

Any 1/10th scale electric 4wd Truggy of ROAR spec paired with a 2s lipo. Motors and electronic speed controls (esc) are not limited in this class.

eBuggy Lite

Ebuggy lite is a new class we added to our class list near the end of 2015. The class is based on the 1/8th  ‘E’ Buggy platform but has some major differences. Ebuggy Lite must only use a 2s (7.4v 2 cell) lipo. They must also only use 4wd SCT style motors. No 1/8th electric motors are allowed.  Starting in 2019 we have NO weight limit for this class.  This is an advanced class Novice drivers are not allowed at all.
