Cans for a Cause highlights.
For this years benefit race MRCR chose to do a canned food drive to help our local residents in need. It was held Saturday November 9th, which turned out to be a wonderful cool fall day for some fun RC racing. We ended up having 29 entries and bringing in a good hall of food in support of our cause. Racing was fierce in both the stock classes (buggy and SCT). Team Jones came out on top in Stock Buggy and Udo Richter was the dominate force in Stock SCT. Team Jones beat out local fast guy Derek Stephansen with Ron Bickle not far behind in Stock Buggy. Richter started second in Stock SCT but managed to have a super clean run and take first with a very impressive run. The top 4 places in stock SCT were only separated by 2 seconds going into the main with Anthony Varner setting a fast lap for the day of 21.5 in the final qualifier that would place him as TQ going into the main.
Lots a great racing was had in all classes and lots of fun for a great cause. Thanks to all that came out to support our event. You all rock!
